Stephen King is a well known author for making horror stories, he creates bone chilling plot lines that creep into your dreams. I am now reading Cujo which is about a bunch of people lifes that are all intertwined. Their is a very wide range of charecters from four year old kids to a mom cheating on her family and even a dog.
I have recently started this book and am not on to anything bone chilling quite yet. Even though I am not even a third way done I feel very close to the charecters. I know the nervous habbits of some of these charecters that would take a year for me to realize about my friends. For example the following is said about a charecter named Donna,"she crossed her arms over her breasts and cuppd her elbows in her palms, a charecteristic gesture of nervousnes with her." I find it cool that I know so much about these charecters after reading it I am latter thinking about what Aunt Evvie would say about the weather here.
Towards the begining of the book it mentions that Cujo is pre-rabid. I was wondering why Stephen king said this so early in the book and didn't wait for us to make sense of it ourselfs when the time came for him to become rabid. I have been trying to figure out why such a talented author like himself would deside to give some of the story away, I now am realizing. I think that he wanted to let the readers so that they continue reading. Since now they know he is going to become rabid they also want to know if the dog wll hurt the family, himself and/or other people. I f this is what Stephen King was atempting to do it defintly worked on me.
I will try to use both things that Stephen King tought me. To hint something to the readers that leaves them wanting more and very good charecter discriptions. Stephen King is a very talented writer and I hope to someday be as good as him.
