A Pair of Star Crossed-Lovers Take Their Life...

I really enjoyed the remake movie of Romeo and Juliet, it was great to see it because I could more closely relate to it because it took place  in a more modern time period. I thought that this movie truly represented young love and how dedicated you are to a person when you are truly in love with them. Throughout the movie both Romeo and Juliet have many examples.

Juliet risks her parents never seeing her again just to be close to Romeo. She must love him so much as to do something in which there could be many consequences and could easily turn out wrong. Also if her parent had found out they would have completely not trust her seeing that she left her whole life behind for a boy. I could even see them being more mad since she was soon supposed to be married to Paris.

Romeo also risks his life for Juliet numerous times but the one that I find most important ends up costing him his life. He finds out that Juliet is "dead" and without thinking for even a minute he jumps in a car and races to Juliet even though it would most likely kill him. Even when he gets to her side and he is alive but he sees her dead he immediately kills himself knowing that he cannot live without her.

I think these characters are both very strong minded and very positive and of course loving. They will not stop loving and chasing after one another simply because someone tells them to. They will follow each other to the death if that is what it takes. And its exactly what happens.

  1. I completely agree with your statement that Romeo and Juliet are both strong minded, optimistic, and loving. I love how you stated your conclusion.

  2. i am in complete agreement with you. It's true Romeo and Juliet are both strong minded and positive.I also liked how you laid out your blogpost. Also, i think that if i were in Romeo's position i would not commit suicide unless i was sure i was in love. I think Romeo and Juliet's love was rushed and not fully real so i thought it was sad when they died. Anyway i really liked your blogpost :)
